Users of the services of studentflat.co.nz acknowledge that studentflat.co.nz is an independent third party, acting as a conduit between landlord, tenant and flatmates and as such does not warrant the suitability of any arrangement made between the other parties, and is not liable for any subsequent claims including but not restricted to, loss of rent, damage to properties or reputation, or any other loss.

ONLINE PAYMENTS

Student Flat will not store any credit card details, all transactions will be redirected to DPS (Direct Payment Solutions) for entering credit card details and processing at their secure gateway.

TERMINOLOGY

In these terms and conditions, the expressions “we”, “us” and “our” are a reference to Student Rent.

AMENDMENTS TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions from time to time. Amendments will be effective immediately upon notification on this web site. Your continued use of the web site following such notification will represent an agreement by you to be bound by the terms and conditions as amended.

All information provided by us pursuant to these terms and conditions is provided in good faith. You accept that any information provided by us is general information and is not in the nature of advice. Description of the goods and services available on Student Flat

The services being produced on Student Flat are listing services, namely, the creation of property listings that can be seen by other users of the website. The categories include (but are not limited to): empty houses available for rent, flatmate wanted, and private boarding wanted and available listings.

Delivery times and methods for goods and services

All services are delivered at the time of transaction, when listings are viewable to other users on the websites. However, delays can occur (primarily dependant on payment). If any issues arise, these will be resolved as quickly as possible.

Cancellation, refunds, and returns

Cancellation can take place at any time (i.e. the listing can be removed at any time). However, refunds will only be given if applied for within 10 days of placing the listing. The refund will be given in full, minus any transaction costs required in processing payment. To apply for a refund, contact michael@studentflat.co.nz.

Additional charges

There are no compulsory additional charges in excess of the listing purchase fee. However, there are optional upgrade fees, which enable such things as appearing first in searches. Again, these additional charges are optional.

Privacy policy

Personal information will not be sold or rented to third parties; Student Flat abides by the laws relating to privacy and safeguarding of information. Personal information is information about an identifiable individual, as defined by the Privacy Act 1993.

Student Flat collects information, such as registration details and usage of the website. Student Flat uses the information we collect to provide services to you, to verify your identity, to enforce or apply our terms and conditions, to protect the rights, property, or safety of Student Flat, our users, or others, for internal research purposes, for promoting and marketing other Student Flat services to you, and for any other use that you authorise.

Any personal contact information displayed on the website is confirmed by you (as the user), such as a first name, telephone number, and email address for other customers to contact you about your listing.

Under NZ law, we may be required by government agencies to provide data. These agencies include (but are not restricted to): the Police, Inland Revenue and the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment. Personal information is only released for the purpose of legal compliance and law enforcement, to enforce and/or apply our terms and conditions, to aid court proceedings, and to protect the rights, property, and safety of Student Flat.

Where Student Flat uses third parties to undertake services, we may provide those third parties with some of your information if it is required to fulfil those services.
